What Crop Image helps you do

Crop photos and graphics visually or by exact pixel coordinates, then download a trimmed PNG without uploading to a server. Drag a selection on the preview for a quick crop, or enter X, Y, width and height when the destination specifies exact dimensions. It is the fastest way to make a square product shot or cut a region out of a mockup.

Images are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to Haivix servers.

How it works

The image is drawn to a preview canvas at display scale. The selection is tracked in canvas coordinates and converted back to source pixels for the fields. Cropping draws only the selected region onto a new canvas at its original resolution and exports it as a PNG, so the crop does not resize the pixels.

How to use Crop Image

Drop an image and drag the crop handles on the preview, or enter X, Y, width, and height.
Check that the selection covers the region you want and stays inside the image bounds.
Select Crop image, then download the PNG preview.
Repeat with a new selection if the framing needs adjustment.

When to use it

Square-crop product photos for marketplaces that require 1:1 images.
Remove borders or watermarks from screenshots before documentation.
Extract a region from a larger design mockup for social sharing.
Trim a uniform margin from a scanned page.
Cut a headshot out of a group photo.
Isolate a chart or table from a full-page screenshot.
Cut a signature or stamp image out of a scanned page.

When not to use it

Do not use it to resize; cropping changes the covered region, not the scale.
Do not crop a JPEG repeatedly if you can keep the original and crop once.
Do not expect the tool to remove a watermark; it only removes the area around it.

Example

A 3000×2000 product photo needs a 1200×1200 listing image. A square selection is placed around the product, the crop is applied, and the PNG preview is checked for cut-off edges before download. The original stays untouched for other marketplaces.

Example: make a square marketplace image

Drop the product photo and drag a square selection around the item, leaving a little breathing room at the edges. The dimmed area shows what will be removed.

Use the exact fields if the marketplace requires a specific pixel size; the preview updates with the numeric values.

Crop and check the preview. If the framing is wrong, adjust the selection and crop again before downloading the PNG.

What to know before you start

Output is PNG; there is no JPG or WebP option.
The crop is rectangular only; there is no circle or freeform mask.
The tool does not resize the cropped pixels.
Very large images are limited by browser canvas size.
There is no undo history beyond making a new selection.

Common mistakes

Cutting too tightly and clipping the edge of the subject.
Entering coordinates outside the image bounds.
Cropping a screenshot at display scale and losing sharpness on a high-DPI screen.
Assuming the crop resizes the output; it only changes the covered area.
Forgetting that the output is PNG, not the source JPEG.

Troubleshooting

If the crop button stays disabled, the selection is smaller than the minimum or outside the image. Drag a larger region.

If the preview looks blurry, that is the display preview; the downloaded crop uses the original pixels.

If the fields do not match the drag, release the pointer and check the values; they update from the selection.

If the result has the wrong aspect ratio, the selection was not square. Use the numeric fields for an exact size.

If the image will not load, its format may not be supported by the browser. Convert it first.

If the crop fields show zero, no selection has been made yet; drag on the preview or enter the dimensions.

If the PNG is much larger than the source, the source was a compressed JPEG; PNG output is lossless and therefore heavier. Convert the crop to JPEG afterward if size matters.

If the selection jumps, zoom the browser to 100%; a scaled page changes the pointer-to-canvas mapping.
